A 23 year old year young boy was about to graduate and wanted to join the corporate world. He had excellent credentials but this is not all what corporate sector requires, it require well developed soft skills which he lacked. Going on with the flow without having any defined purpose, one of his friend recommended him Amal Fellowship which works on people soft skills and it is more than 80% funded by Stanford and Pepsi Co. This was something he really wanted, he came home, researched on it and applied. After a thorough selection process, he got selected in 150 out of 4500+ candidates, fortunately.

The 3-months fellowship was about to take a start from December 2020. In his orientation session, he got to know that there will be 2 online courses every week along with a lot more fun activities. The first draft which the facilitators sent was about the importance of taking notes. He knew its importance so he went to a stationary shop and bought a notebook especially confined for this fellowship work only.

Once, he was asked by his facilitators what object would recall your fellowship. Can something else be better than his fellowship notebook? I think no.

In that draft, he was not only advised to take notes but that also with different colors because it will help him better memorize it. Here are 6 colors pointers.

He learnt a lot in this journey and it would be hard to pinpoint all of his learning but these are some of the major learnings.

  1. A well defined purpose of his life
  2. Teamwork skills
  3. Leadership skills
  4. Communication skills
  5. Resume and Cover Letter writing
  6. Interview skills
  7. Problem solving
  8. Networking
  9. How to get things done
  10. MS Office

Would you like to see his first page of the notebook which was about knowing yourself? He did not know his strengths before but he wrote for it as it was required. Look, this is a great part of the fellowship where they force you to know yourself, utilize your potential in the most productive way, and be the one who goes the extra mile.

This is all for this blog. This fellow would love to write more about his journey of fellowship along with a lot more about his life experiences, so don’t miss on his blogs.
